ChatGPT
Status: LIVE VALIDATED against a real remote CommandCore deployment.
CommandCore treats ChatGPT as one MCP client, not as an architectural dependency.
Endpoint
Connect ChatGPT to the deployment's HTTPS MCP resource:
https://commandcore.example.com/mcp
The deployment must expose valid OAuth protected-resource metadata and use an OAuth/OIDC provider compatible with the client flow.
Logo and duplicate development connections
The server advertises its square PNG icon in MCP serverInfo for the
2025-11-25 initialization and 2026-07-28 discovery protocols. Both /mcp and
/mcp/core use the same icon. Older initialization versions retain their
existing response shape. Icon URLs use the configured public base URL and a
content version, and can be fetched without device or account access.
Rendering or caching this icon is controlled by the client; an existing
ChatGPT development connection is not guaranteed to update its directory icon.
Refresh its tools after deploying, then verify the displayed icon. If publishing
a plugin package, use apps/web/commandcore-icon.png for its logo and
composerIcon metadata or upload it through the developer dashboard.
Use one daily connection to /mcp/core where the daily tool surface suffices.
Keep the full /mcp connection only when its additional tools are needed.
OAuth acceptance-test connections should have an explicit test label. Remove
them only after confirming they are no longer needed; the server cannot delete
client-side connection records.
Authorization
Start with the smallest useful scopes:
commandcore:read
commandcore:standard
offline_access
Do not grant commandcore:full or administrative authority unless the deployment, device-local policy, and intended client workflow all require it.
The effective device authority is still capped by the explicit account-to-device grant and the device-local ceiling.
Acceptance evidence
The project has validated the following through a real ChatGPT conversation using OAuth and the remote MCP endpoint:
- authenticated identity inspection;
- devices.list;
- devices.select;
- system.info;
- filesystem read;
- STANDARD shell execution on an explicitly selected device.
That acceptance proves the CommandCore path, not every ChatGPT account, plan, workspace policy, platform, or future product configuration. Client capabilities can change independently of CommandCore.
Validation checklist for a new deployment
- Connect the remote MCP endpoint.
- Complete OAuth login.
- Verify auth.whoami shows only intended scopes and grants.
- Run devices.list.
- Select a non-critical test device.
- Run system.info.
- Read a harmless file such as /etc/hostname on Linux.
- If STANDARD is intended, run a harmless command such as hostname.
- Confirm audit records identify the account, device, and execution.
- Revoke the device grant and verify access is denied.
Never use production FULL_CONTROL as the first integration test.
